Motherhood-The Happily Married Woman (Here Comes The Baby)

To all happily married women, i thank God for you, i identify with you too.
You have the love and support of your fine husband, you are probably cherished by your family members, in-laws and all, good for you too.
I still have a few words for you because you are still a mother: you know the joys, the pains, the gains and the losses of motherhood.

Most likely your pregnancy is planned and expected, perfect but truth is..You still get the surprises.
If you are fortunate enough, you will probably not experience any morning sickness or food cravings but, what about the weight gain, the change in physique and the demise of the figure of eight??
You experience the excitement of finding out the sex of your baby and picking out a perfect name for her, the joy of shopping for the layette and getting the nursery ready for your baby. The overwhelming feeling of walking into the nursery, looking at all the soft colors and thinking “Oh!!, i can’t wait to meet my baby”
What about the special joy you feel as you notice some fine movement right inside of you as quickening occurs??
You have your moments too: The mood swings, the fears of the unknown, episodes of weakness and general discomfort. Simple tasks like tying your shoe lace become a burden, taking a bath becomes challenging, bending down to pick something off the floor becomes almost impossible and you are probably saying to yourself “When is this going to end?”. Trust me, you are still on top because you still have your support system intact. Everyone fusses over you wanting to help: Your loving husband, his relations, your relations and friends too. Think about the other woman who doesn’t have all of these or has nothing at all but still goes through these same things.
Here comes the “D” day!!: You are excited but scared too. Truth is…Whether you have your baby through the natural birth or Caesarian section, the process of child birth is painful and rigorous.
The joy comes when you behold your baby, healthy and very cute.
Sadly, not all women have it this good, this far.
You have all the support: people all around you, waiting on you hand and foot; you are the queen!! For some women, no one notices or cares. But i thank God for you!!
The joy you experience when you hear your baby cry for the first time, the feeling you get the first time you hold her tiny hands in yours , It’s amazing!!. The feel of the tiny soft fragile bundle of joy as you carry your baby in your arms and you realize it belongs to you, That’s amazing too.
Oh!! and all around, your loved ones with beaming faces, watching you, watching the baby, praising God and thanking you for making them proud. Your husband, sitting beside you, holding the baby’s tiny hands in his, giving you a peck while you breastfeed the baby, his baby, the physical sign of your intimacy…That’s amazing!!
The sweet still comes with some pain: the severe pain right down your tummy; the after pain, the pain, soreness and discomfort around your per anal areas, the pain of the cut if you got one or from an abdominal incision if you had the section, the fear and pain of getting your breast to produce enough milk for your baby, the abdominal pains as you feed your baby. I still thank God for you because you made it alive; both you and the baby. Many women lost their babies after going through the rigors of pregnancy and child birth, I know the pain, i’ave been there.

If you are fortunate, your baby will breastfeed at will, if you are like some of us, you are in for a surprise.
If you are fortunate, you get your baby to sleep so you may have some rest but if you are like some of us, bye bye to sleep.
Whether you have it easy or difficult like some of us, still good enough since you have all the support. If i survived it, you will too.
THE SWEET NEVER FAILS TO COME WITH SOME PAIN
GOOD DAY FRIENDS!!! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
