Parents, Please Don’t Give Up

It is easier to close our mouths and say nothing when we observe things going wrong, but that’s not what we do because we know better than that.
It is especially true when parents deal with their children, the teenagers most especially.
It seems easier to close our eyes and pretend not to see when the children start playing with fire. Reason: We try not to upset them mostly teenagers because they are ready to fight. They are stupid enough to think they are wise and are ready to challenge the guidance you provide.

It seems easier to smile at them and pretend all is well meanwhile, we watch them head for calamity. Reason: We want to be the cool mum or the cool dad. That’s not what we want to do, we know it doesn’t work. It is natural to want the approval of our kids but we still need to be parents.
These “Solomon” kids and teenagers still need our help, they need guidance because we know them better than they know themselves.

It seems easier to tell them they are doing fine while the simple truth is that they are far from it. Most of us face daily dilemmas in dealing with our children. We struggle to balance our love for them with our duties and obligations towards them. Honestly, it takes the hand of God to be successful in this because we all are limited in thought and might, both parents and children.

Dear fellow parents, let’s tell ourselves “we can do it”, we are ready to keep trying, “we won’t give up”. Who among parents haven’t felt like giving up for once? Who hasn’t been discouraged some time? I know i have, but i also cautioned my thoughts. I vowed to never give up on my kids. So parents, each time you feel discouraged or feel like giving up, remember to do the same. We are simply care takers for these kids, they actually belong to God and we are accountable to Him. God never gave up on us parents so how can we give up on our kids?. What excuse do we have?

Truth is: We cannot make this journey alone, we need the guidance of the one who made us and gave these children as gifts to us. He sees all the pains, he knows how we feel. Every blessing comes with some responsibility, every gain with some sacrifice.
Parents!!, your children are blessings from God but their troubles are part of the deal.

Let’s ask the giver of the gift to help us out here, let’s find out what manual He has for us, let’s follow His guidance and directions and trust me, it will be easier for us.
